1. Is it necessary to produce
the original policy for making a maturity claim?
It is not necessary for the policyholder to surrender the
original policy to Great Eastern Life to receive the maturity payment.
2. What happens to the maturity proceeds
if I'm not living in Singapore when my policy matures?
If the policyholder is not living in Singapore and would
like to receive the maturity proceeds when the policy matures, the
policyholder needs to give specific instructions as to the mode
of payment (i.e. bankdraft or telegraphic transfer). This can be
done on the attached separate "Maturity Payment Instruction"
for mode of payment that is sent to policyholder with foreign address.
The policyholder must also indicate the foreign currency to be paid
out to.
3. Who will the maturity claim be paid
to?
Maturity proceed will be paid to the owner of the policy.
4. Do I need to keep Great Eastern informed
upon maturity of my policy?
No. About 10 days prior to the maturity of your policy,
Great Eastern will sent you a mail informing you on the maturity
date and maturity amount.
5. Can I request for direct crediting of
my maturity proceed?
Yes. 2 months prior to maturity of your policy, Great Eastern will
send you an invitation to participate in direct crediting of your
maturity proceed to your bank. Please note that direct crediting
is only allowed for amount equal or lower than $30,000.
6. Can I utilise my maturity proceeds for
payment of premiums for another policy or for repayment of policy
loans/APL?
No.
7. Can I transfer my maturity proceeds
as full/part payment to a new policy that I wanted to purchase?
Yes, kindly inform your servicing Life Planner on the request.
Great Eastern shall send you a cheque for the balance maturity proceeds,
if any, after the transfer of the maturity proceeds.
8. Can I authorise my Life Planner to collect
the maturity cheque?
Yes. Your Servicing Life Planner will require an authorisation form
signed by you before we can release the cheque to your Servicing
Life Planner. Please note that the authorisation letter has to be
submitted to us at least 7 working days before the maturity date.
