Capital International Research and Management, Inc., incorporated in the U.S. and conducting business in Singapore as Capital International (CII), provides its fund management services to Asia-Pacific clients including a number of large Singapore based clients. CII opened a branch in Singapore on 27 January 1989 and has held a license to provide investment management services there since 12 May 1989. The local office has grown from 2 associates in 1989 to approximately 90 associates today. There are 3 portfolio managers, 9 research analysts, and 1 other investment professional located here. CII has also more than tripled their office space to over 17,688 square feet since inception and will be further increasing this space when they move to their new office at One Raffles Quay this year (2007). As such, the CII branch is a full-fledged office with portfolio management, research, marketing, investment administration and trading departments. As at 31 December 2006, CII managed over SGD 18 billion in assets of Singapore based clients. All assets are managed on a discretionary basis.
